Your Favorite Color is…..

Tellïo was walking to market a few days ago when he was asked a random question. Someone asked him what his favorite color was and without hesitation, he said denim. The asker was puzzled and didn't necessarily consider denim as a colorant. From Tellïos' perspective, denim has a wide range of shades, offering fashionistas a great chance to get creative with their wardrobe.

His real motivation to wear denim stems from an environmental and minimalism standpoint. Tellïo has revamped his fashion sense to a denim-based style. It includes jumpers, sneakers, button-up shirts, berets, caps, vests, overalls, coveralls, and shorts. His clothes collection has reduced dramatically and he has established a 3-4 outfit rotation for the week.

This pivot has given Tellïo more peace of mind and mental benefit. Here are some of the rewards that come with the change:

  • Reduces mental fatigue - less energy is wasted on decision-making about an outfit

  • Clarifies the mind - less clutter promotes peace of mind both physically and mentally

  • Take back your time - spend less time making decisions, more time doing what matters

  • Consume mindfully - every piece of clothing serves a purpose

  • Reduced stress related to shopping and spending - Less impulse buying and wardrobe dissatisfaction

  • Enhances confidence and personal style - No more second-guessing and more self-assurance

  • Supports emotional wellbeing - Decluttering lowers cortisol levels (the stress hormone)

Making the change to primarily wear denim also contributes to a positive impact on the environment, which is of interest to Tellïo. Some of the net positives of this behavior change are as follows.

🌱 1. Reliability & Durability

  • In the long run, denim requires fewer purchases because of its durability

♻️ 2. Sustainability and reusability

  • Denim can be repurposed as clothing, insulation, bags, or home goods

  • A number of brands offer take-back or recycling programs to encourage circular fashion

🌿 3. Sustainable purchases reduce consumption

  • Sustainable cotton (used in eco-denim) uses less water and avoids harmful pesticides

🌊 4. Efficient use of water (by choosing the right brands)

  • There are innovative denim processing techniques that reduce water usage by up to 90%, including waterless dyeing and ozone finishing

☀️ 5. Biodegradability

  • Landfills decompose 100% cotton denim (without synthetic blends)

👖 6. A timeless and versatile style

  • It is rare for denim to go out of style, which helps reduce overproduction and trend-based consumption.

🌍 The Right Way to Maximize Denim's Eco-Friendliness

  • Invest in secondhand or vintage denim

  • Choose brands with sustainable certifications

  • Use cold water and wash less often

  • Instead of tumble drying, air dry

  • Rather than replacing, repair

To summarize, Tellïo want people to find their own style to express themselves and feel hella comfortable without a care in the world. Doing it with less burnout and more efficiency. Mental health is just as critical as physical health. Take care of it and get mentally fit. From a food perspective, there are natural dyes that can be used to add flare to your style. These include beets, turmeric, spirilina, caramel, & characol (powder or liquid form). Get creative and live your best life. As always, Stay Strong & Stay Vivid!
